CATALYST
LP4Y Professional in voluntary mission. As in chemistry, a catalyst triggers or simply accelerates a reaction. LP4Y Catalysts commit to supporting the positive transformation of their environment to a more inclusive society. They are dedicated to the empowerment of excluded Youth and work as catalysts for their professional integration.
ENTREPRENEURS DAY
EDAY

EXCLUSION & INCLUSION
“[...] exclusion is a multidimensional phenomenon not limited to material deprivation; poverty is an important dimension of exclusion, albeit only one dimension. Accordingly, [...] inclusion processes involve more than improving access to economic resources [...] and [inclusion] is defined as the process of improving the terms of participation in society, particularly for people who are disadvantaged, through enhancing opportunities, access to resources, voice and respect for rights” (UN 2016: p.17).
GREEN VILLAGE
LP4Y’s second pedagogical format, deployed since 2013 in rural areas of exclusion. PTE has been adapted and is thus residential and accelerated. For more information, please see the GV format innovative solution.
INTEGRATION ECOSYSTEM
Network dedicated to the professional integration of excluded Youth and made up of diverse actors (international corporations, local businesses, NGOs, local communities…) that surround every LP4Y Center and generally every LP4Y site. LIFE PROJECT CENTER
LPC
LP4Y’s first pedagogical format, launched in 2009 in urban areas of exclusion. For more information, please see the LPC format innovative solution.
LIFE PROJECT MONEY
LPM
Weekly allowance received by the Youth to cover their basic expenses related to their professional integration. Savings are kept aside for use during the subsequent job search. For more information, please see the LPM innovative solution.
LIFE PROJECT PLAN
LPP
During PTE the Youth work on the development of their personal plan for their professional future. It allows the Youth to question themselves, anticipate, research and develop interests, set a series of goals in order to build a path toward professional integration. LITTLE ANGELS ACADEMIES
LAA
Nursery for the children of Young Mothers that join LP4Y. Adjacent to the LP4Y Centers, it allows the mothers to fully focus on their PTE. For more information, please see the LAA innovative solution.

MICRO ECONOMIC INITIATIVES
MEI
Micro business or activity operated within an LP4Y Center and managed by about 15 Youth. They develop a wide variety of activities depending on local needs and opportunities. This entrepreneurial experience is the most important element of PTE for the Youth. For more information, please see the MEI innovative solution.
PROFESSIONAL TRAINING FOR ENTREPRENEURS
PTE

STARS
Share, Train, Act, Reach, Support - STARS are young graduates of PTE and thus members of the STARS Club.
STARS CLUB
The Alumni clubs for the various LP4Y Centers where STARS regularly meet and carry out a variety of actions for the professional integration of the Youth. For more information, please see the STARS Club innovative solution.

TALENT
At LP4Y the word is used to describe human resource management, including both Catalysts and Youth. It covers a wide range of areas, from the recruitment of Catalysts to the development of the pedagogy through the capitalization of experience.
TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT CENTER
TDC
LP4Y’s third pedagogical format launched at the end of 2020. It is a condensed form of PTE, lasts 6 months and is strongly advocacy- and MEI-oriented For more information, please see the TDC format innovative solution.
WELCOME WEEK
Training week dedicated to the new batch of volunteers arriving in the field each February and August. Over the course of 2 weeks, the new Catalysts get to grips with LP4Y’s pedagogy, the intercultural settings, the reality of living and working in the field, the safety guidelines and their personal development. It is a critical time for the Catalysts as they prepare for their 12-month experience in the field.

YOUTH
A word used systematically within the LP4Y movement to describe young men and women in situations of exclusion. In keeping with the values and vision of LP4Y, based on the recognition and empowerment of excluded Youth, it is essential to avoid pejorative terms and representations in order to achieve horizontality in relationships and cooperation.
YOUTH 4 CHANGE NETWORK
International network of NGOs working for Youth inclusion. Launched in 2011 and now with 40+ members located in 18 countries, this is a forum for sharing best practices and experiences and for organizing advocacy actions.
YOUTH INCLUSION NETWORK
International network of corporations committed to the integration of excluded Youth. Launched in 2016 in the Philippines and in 2018 in Vietnam, it today has 45+ members and 10+ partners.
YOUTH LAB
Dedicated space for the development of innovative solutions that support the socio-professional insertion of excluded Youth. Located in New York and Paris.
